These Autism Videos can help give more understanding about how MeRT may help improve symptoms and quality of life for those with Autism.
Autism One Summit Conference on Autism
This first Autism video has a wealth of information ranging from the science behind MeRT treatment and Autism to case studies that show actual results. Sandy Lee, M.D. at our sister clinic in Newport Beach, Alex Ring, Chief Brain Scientist at Wave Neuroscience, and Miriam Gimal, mom of a child with Autism, all participate and offer their insights into how MeRT helps, the typical brain patterns seen in children with Autism, and testimonials.
Dr. Lee works out of our Newport Beach clinic, which was the first clinic to offer MeRT treatment in 2011. Alex Ring is the Chief Neuroscientist at Wave Neuroscience, which is the company behind the MeRT technology.
Here at Summit Brain Health, Dr. Geraci is the first physician to offer this treatment in the Bay Area, and is treating patients with Autism at his clinic in San Carlos.
This is a “Must Watch” for any parent considering MeRT treatment for a child with autism! We hope you enjoy learning more about our treatment and how it can help your loved one!
MeRT Treatment Featured on the television show, “The Doctors”
This Autism video is from The Doctors TV show when MeRT was discussed as a new and emerging treatment for Autism.

Starting as a New Patient for Autism Treatment
Starting as a new patient at Summit Brain Health initially involves two appointments, both of which are about 45 minutes to an hour in length. Your first appointment is when your EEG testing takes place, and the second appointment is when you have your consultation with Dr. Geraci.
At the first appointment, we will collect your new patient paperwork, and our neurotechnician will complete your qEEG (quantitative Electroencephalogram) and EKG testing. This test is simple and painless; it involves placing a cap on your head to measure the electrical activity in your brain and map out any areas which are not performing as they should. A lead is also placed on your chest to capture the EKG data.
We perform this test right in our office, then send the data to our scientists and clinical teams. They, along with Dr. Geraci, carefully analyze the test results to identify any dysregulation occurring in the brain. Based on their analysis, we develop a treatment plan customized to your specific condition and schedule your assessment period of treatment.
Your second appointment, after your qEEG/EKG, is a consultation with Dr. Geraci. He will be able to answer any questions that you may have and let you know more about what to expect during your assessment period of treatment. He will also go over your medical history, along with symptoms.
For children who are ten years old and younger, the assessment period will begin on a Monday and last for one week. Treatment will be administered every day, Monday through Thursday, and then a repeat qEEG/EKG will be completed on Friday to measure progress.
For patients who are 11 years old and up, the assessment period of treatment is two weeks in duration and also begins on a Monday. Treatment for the first week occurs Monday through Friday, and for the second week occurs Monday through Thursday, with the repeat qEEG/EKG being completed on Friday to measure progress.
During the assessment period, we closely monitor any clinical changes being realized by the patient, and the qEEG/EKG confirms what changes are occurring in the brain. The treatment sessions generally last 30-45 minutes each day.
If you are a patient who will be traveling from out of town, we aim to schedule your qEEG/EKG on a Friday, then schedule your consultation and first treatment session for the following Monday.
For patients who prefer to have their first and second appointments before deciding to move forward with treatment, we are happy to work with you on this.
After the appropriate assessment period is completed, and you are noting improvements in brain function, we will schedule additional MeRT treatment in two-week intervals. At the end of every two weeks, we will perform a qEEG/EKG to monitor your progress; you will then have a consultation with Dr. Geraci to confirm that changes are still showing on the testing.
Most conditions treated with MeRT provide noticeable and long-lasting results after four to eight weeks of treatment; however, each patient is different, and results may vary.
