AutismOne Summit
This first autism video has a wealth of information ranging from the science behind MeRT treatment and autism to case studies that show actual results.
The video features Dr. Sandy Lee, Alex Ring, and Miriam Gimal (the mother of a child with autism). They all offer their insights into the typical brain patterns seen in children with autism and how MeRT helps.
Dr. Lee worked out of our Newport Beach clinic for many years. This was the first clinic to offer MeRT treatment in 2011. Alex Ring is the Chief Neuroscientist at Wave Neuroscience, the company behind the MeRT technology.
Here at Summit Brain Health, Dr. Geraci is the first physician to offer this treatment in the Bay Area and treats patients with autism at his clinic in San Jose.
This is a “Must Watch” for any parent considering MeRT treatment for a child with autism! We hope you enjoy learning more about our treatment and how it can help your loved one!

Starting as a New Patient for Autism Treatment
Starting as a new patient at Summit Brain Health initially involves two appointments, both of which are about 45 minutes to an hour. The first appointment is for EEG testing, and the second is for your consultation with Dr. Geraci.
At the first appointment, we will collect your new patient paperwork, and our neuro-technician will complete your child’s qEEG (quantitative electroencephalogram) and EKG testing.
This simple, painless test involves placing a cap on your child’s head to measure the brain’s electrical activity and map out any areas which are not performing as they should. We also place a lead on the chest to capture the EKG data.
We perform this test right in our office, then send the data to our scientists and clinical teams. They, along with Dr. Geraci, carefully analyze the results to identify any dysregulation occurring in the brain. Based on their analysis, we develop a treatment plan customized to your child’s specific condition and schedule your assessment period of treatment.
Treatment Period
After the qEEG/EKG, you will have a consultation with Dr. Geraci. He will answer questions that you may have and let you know more about what to expect during treatment. He will also go over your medical history, along with symptoms. We can then get your child scheduled for treatment.
Once the treatment starts, we closely monitor any clinical changes. The treatment sessions last 30 to 45 minutes each day. We will repeat the qEEG every ten treatments, and Dr. Geraci will meet with you to go over the results seen and any clinical changes.
If you will be traveling from out of town, we aim to schedule the qEEG/EKG on a Friday, then schedule your consultation and first treatment session for the following Monday.
For patients who prefer to have their first and second appointments before deciding to move forward with treatment, we are happy to work with you on this.
Most conditions treated with MeRT provide noticeable and long-lasting results after six weeks of treatment. However, each patient is different, and results may vary.
